How to commission an oil portrait painting !

Prices and logisics are discussed over the phone or in person. Feel free to schedule a studio visit if you are in Philadelphia !

Artist prefers to work from his own photographs, so usually a photo shoot will be scheduled. Occasionally photos from client are acceptable, depending on the photo.

Painting from life, in artist’s studio is also an option if you have the time available.

50% payment up front, 50% upon completion of work to client satisfaction.

Changes by client are allowed twice during the process. At the ‘thumbnail sketch’ stage and at 2/3 way through the final painting. There is a charge for additional changes.

All paintings are completed to museums standards and with the intention of being handed down for generations.

If your descendants are not fighting over the portrait of you after your death, then I didn’t do my job.
