Kerry Dunn graduated in 1999 from Ringling College of Art and Design, in Sarasota, Florida, with a degree in illustration. He went on to study for a period of time at The Art Students League of NY in 2001, and then more extensively with Nelson Shanks at Studio Incamminati, located in Philadelphia from 2003 - 2008.
Kerry lives and works in Philadelphia, PA and teaches in the core program at Studio Incamminati. In addition Kerry also teaches workshops around the country and internationally. He is represented by Stanek Gallery in Philadelphia and The Artist Study in Southampton, NY.
Kerry is a part of a movement of 'new masters' that has sought to reclaim the methodologies of the old masters, almost completely lost during the 20th century. This movement is in large part due to the atelier system, small studio schools each lead by a master painter, that has been on the rise since the mid 90's. Studio Incamminati is one of these such schools. Kerry's work is firmly rooted in the academic traditions of figure, portrait, still life and landscape painting. His more recent work seeks to combine all of these genres while also exploring elements of abstract expressionism, intuitive composing, and emotive concepts.
